The inauguration of Anglican Christian Fellowship Nigeria of Akoko Chapter begins its inauguration preparation from Friday 11th – Sunday 13th March 2016 at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, Eshe, Ikare Akoko by the Diocesan Bishop of Akoko Anglican Diocese, The Rt. Revd. G. A. Akinbiyi, M.Th (London) and the National Council delegates led by the National President Mr. Henshaw Adesoye. Delegates came from different chapters which are: Ibadan, Awori, Ijebu North, Lagos West, Lagos Mainland, Oke-Osun, Osun.
DAY ONE – Friday 11th March 2016
They started arriving on Friday 11th March 2016, The National Council went o a visit to the Diocesan Bishop and his family at the Bishop’s court where the Bishop has been expecting them. The National Executives Councils introduced themselves to the Bishop and wife. The Bishop advise them all especially on the Christian race, they were being entertained, they prayed for the Bishop, his family, Diocese of Akoko, the Clergy and their family and after then the Bishop prayed for them all and the grace in unison was said. On getting back to St. Thomas’ Church, Eshe, they held a brief meeting and coupled it with Night Vigil with all members.
DAY TWO – Saturday 12th March, 2016
The Holy Communion Service was conducted by the Vicar of St. Thomas’ Church, Eshe, The Ven. Peter A. Oladepo and assisted by The Revd. Canon T. M. A. Olaniyan by 8.30pm. The Revd. Canon Olaniyan preached the sermon on the theme ‘Love: manifestation of God’s being’. The service was well attended by the Council Executives and the Chapters. Immediately after the Communion service breakfast followed. The Annual General Meeting was held peacefully. The President read his speech, financial report was read by the Treasurer and the Financial Secretary and all these were applauded. The meeting ended with many resolutions taken. It was a long period of time and after the meeting there was brake and rest. Some Chapters left immediately after the meeting.
DAY THREE – Sunday 13th March, 2016
The Day Three is the inauguration proper with the presentation of the Executive members of Akoko Chapter to the Diocesan Bishop by the National President, Bro. Henshaw Adesoye and the National Secretary and the Dedication and Investiture/Decoration of the Chapter Patrons and Patroness. The Enrolment Certificate was presented to Akoko Chapter President, Bro. Olubanji Kumuyi by the National Secretary, Bro. Elisha I. Edun. The Diocesan Bishop preached the sermon where he welcomed the Executives Council and all Chapters officially to the Diocese and wish them journey mercy as they go back. He assured the Fellowship of his support throughout the Diocese and urged the President not to rest on his hoarse but should go and inaugurates many sub-chapters throughout the Diocese. The Revd. Canon Olaniyan Ayo led the prayer session while thanksgiving was done and all ended in a joyful mood.
At the close of the service, photographs were taking and reception was held in the honour of the Patrons and Patroness.
