The Annual Ladies/Girls Guild. We are thanking God Almighty for the success of the year 2016 camp. The camp which was being held as usual at Rufus Giwa Secondary School Ibaram Iyani Akoko came up between Thursday 7th April 2016 – Sunday 10th April 2016. It was hosted by the Cathedral Church of St Stephen Ikare. The Theme was “Living a purposeful life” (Eph 1:9 – 12).
The camp was opened with a Holy Communion service which was led by the Host and the Chaplains. The camp also featured Bible Study, Match pass, Discussion I – “It does not matter: Christian conflict between the church and the world” led by Mrs. C.K. Opaleye while Discussion II was handled by Mrs. O.O. Awoneye on “What are the causes of sexual pressure?”
Talk I, II and III were taken by Mrs. E.O. Agunloye, Sister Ope Ogunsusi and Mrs. A.O Akingbesote respectively on:
- Talk I “Walk by the spirit” Gal 5:16,
- Talk II “You are highly favoured” Luke 1:28.
- Talk III “Entrepreneurship and career”.
Variety night by each Archdeaconry, Physical Exercise, Catching the train, Health Talk on “Toilet Disease (virginal infection”) delivered by Mrs. B.A. Olorunkoya Practical work on how to make cookies directed by Mama Akoko, Mrs. Stella Akinbiyi and cooking competition was not left behind. The camp was full of numerous activities.
There was a class for the Children where we have four to five experienced teacher handling them and they enjoyed themselves throughout the programme.
There was also Bible quiz amongst representatives of each Archdeaconry. Thanksgiving service and presentation of gifts/trophies to the winner of each event camp up. The following Archdeaconries emerged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in;

3rd – Oka Archdeaconry
Cooking competition 1st – Cathedral
2nd – Ikare Archdeaconry
3rd – Ogbagi Archdeaconry
